Asia is trying to kill me. That’s all there is to it. How the hell am I supposed to stay on this porch and not run over to her home and put her ass over my knee. She knows she’s being a little tease. My guess is that her friends are just as responsible for this dancing as she is. But honestly the biggest surprise for me, and for all them was to hear Asia sing. Even though I learned hours earlier that she can sing it was still shocking to hear a pop song. That girl really can sing.

Ethan snickers beside me, “She’s going to bring you to your knees tonight, you know that right?”

“Oh yeah, I can’t wait. I’m just wondering how badly she’s going to drop me.”

“Okay, we need some new ground rules. I do not want to hear anything other than the G rated version about you and Shorty. She’s been like a sister to me for way too many years now. I don’t want to hear it, you can keep those details to yourself. But know this, if you hurt her, I’m coming down on you with a shit-ton of hurt.”

“Noted.”

“So where you taking her tonight?”

“I got reservations at the Hideaway, hopefully she doesn’t mind the ride, it’s about 30 minutes from here.”

“Shorty has never minded traveling so I think you’re good, unless it’s you who don’t think you can handle it.”

“I’m going to try, that’s for damn sure. I just have a funny feeling that if those girls have anything to do with her getting ready for our date, my control is going to be sorely tested tonight.”

“Good luck tonight. I’m heading home, got my own chores to get done tonight.”

As Ethan leaves, I head down to my cabin. I can get in an hour of work before my shower and still have time to change. This will be the first time that Asia will feel me dressed up, the one thing I know is that I’m never getting rid of my beard. Those might be grounds for breaking our date, and I have no plans of sleeping with RJ tonight or any night for that matter.

Promptly at five I drive up to Asia’s. Noticing that the Pepto truck is gone, thank god. Knocking on the door, I’m nervous, what if she changed her mind about our date? Opening her door all tangible thoughts vanish.

“Holy hell woman, you’re trying to kill me.”

“You like it, Cowboy? I can change if you’d like?”

“No.” I manage to grunt out. “You’re gorgeous, Sweetheart.” I walk up to her and kiss her cheek while handing her a bouquet of pink hydrangeas mixed with white lilies. They are beautiful but nothing compared to my girl.

Taking her flowers she brings them to the kitchen and begins to place them in a vase. “Most men bring roses, who told you not to bring me roses?”

Smirking at her, “Who do you think?”

“Ethan.” Shaking her head she simply smiles, “I have the best friends, ever.
